Ivey To Assist In Obama Transition

Former director of the Country Music Foundation Bill Ivey has been selected to President-elect Barack Obama's transition team for arts and culture, according to the Tennessean.

Currently director of the Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy at Vanderbilt University, Ivey is a veteran of the Clinton administration. He served as chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts from 1998 through 2001.

Ivey was the director of the Country Music Foundation from 1971 to 1998. He is also a founder of Nashville-based Leadership Music and an author. His book "Arts, Inc.: How Greed and Neglect Have Destroyed Our Cultural Rights" was published earlier this year.
