AEG announced the ticketing process for the Michael Jackson memorial service at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Beginning Friday until 6 p.m. PDT Saturday, people can go to staplescenter.com to register for a total of 17,500 free tickets. Of those tickets, 11,000 are for seats at Staples Center. The remaining 6,500 are for seats inside Nokia Theatre across the street from Staples to watch a simulcast of the service on three big screens.
A computer will randomly select 8,750 names to receive two tickets and two wristbands per person for either Staples or Nokia.
People will be notified of their selection on Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. PDT. They will receive a code to take to Ticketmaster, where they will get details on picking up tickets and wristbands on Monday.
The remaining tickets in 20,000-seat Staples Center are for the Jackson family and their friends, according to arena owner AEG.
A worldwide television pool feed of the service will be distributed free.
