March 12, 2010

By By Chris M. Walsh, N.Y.

A new Nashville imprint dubbed EMI Records Nashville has launched as a sister-label to Capitol Nashville. Singer/songwriter Troy Olsen is the first artist on the roster. His debut album is slated for release later this year.

Angela Lange, most recently at Capitol Records Nashville as director of promotion, will be the label's VP of promotion.

?Establishing EMI Records Nashville is part of our growth strategy and a way to provide artists a terrific creative home and a top notch, dedicated team to help build their careers,? said Mike Dungan, president and CEO of Capitol Nashville.

The EMI Records Nashville team, to be announced shortly, will report into Dungan.
