British music publisher Chrysalis said its share of income from royalties rose 9% in the first quarter, helped by successful records from Robbie Williams, Jay-Z and JLS.

The company, which publishes some Michael Jackson hits including "Thriller" and "Rock With You," also said trading since October was in line with its view.

"This financial quarter typically accounts for only about 15% of the full year net publisher's share (NPS) and we continue to target a year-on-year increase in consolidated NPS for the 2010 financial year," the company said.

NPS, which is a key revenue metric, represents the amount of royalties received by a music publisher minus those royalties due to performers or writers.

The company also said it was actively considering a number of acquisitions. Chrysalis has an unused facility of ?32.4 million ($50.7 million) to fund acquisitions.
