Last night Cleveland-based indie rock act Cloud Nothings performed in front of a sold out, press-heavy crowd at tiny basement venue The Studio at Webster Hall alongside local NYC act Jump Into the Gospel and Philly's Bleeding Rainbow. The concert, hosted nearly two weeks before the band embarks on a lengthy U.S. tour, acted as the official record release show.

"Attack on Memory," the latest full length from Cloud Nothings, dropped this week on Carpark Records, and has been met with critical acclaim. A few days ago, Pitchfork gave the album it's much coveted "Best New Music" title, the A.V. Club gave the record an A- and on this night the press turned out in full force (a 40-person press list, which in NYC is often the norm).

The crowd included such industry folks as booking agent Dan Traci from the Windish Agency, Jason Kapiskosky from Carpark who drove up from D.C. (label honcho Todd Hyman couldn't make the show) and Pitchfork founder Ryan Schreiber. On this night he was celebrating his birthday, which he called, "the best birthday/!" Also in the house: Pitchfork's Erez Avissar and fellow Life or Death publicists Duncan Wil and Graeme Flegenheimer.
