Gabe Tesoriero Promoted to Senior Vice President, Media and Artist Relations at Island Def Jam
Island Def Jam has promoted former Vice President of Media and Artist Relations Gabe Tesoriero to Senior Vice President of the same division, the company announced today.
With the new title, Tesoriero, who has been at the company since 2005, will be in charge of media, publicity and artist relations initiatives for the label's vast array of artists, including exposure on television, the Internet and in print. Island Def Jam is responsible for artists such as Kanye West, Rihanna, Nas and The Roots.
"I first learned of Gabe's media skills when I began seeing all of the amazing press he was getting as an indie publicist for Kanye and so many others," said Executive Vice President of Media and Artist Relations Laura Swanson. "Long before either of us had arrived at IDJ, I knew I had to work with him. Not only is he an amazing media strategist, but I can't think of anyone else I'd rather have by my side for this wild ride."
Tesoriero began his career at JLM Records in 1998 before moving to Roc-A-Fella as a publicist in 2002, where he began representing Kanye in addition to Ol Dirty Bastard, Beanie Sigel and Cam'Ron, among others.
