Mobile Backstage Appoints David Hazan Chief Marketing Officer

David Hazan has been named Chief Marketing Officer of Mobile Backstage, a Helsinki-based communications platform that uses mobile devices to connect bands and fans through Internet communities and social networking sites.

"David Hazan has been working with Mobile Backstage on a consulting basis over the past few months as we prepared for our North American launch, and his work has been instrumental in getting the company to this stage," said Paavo Bäckman, CEO and co-founder of Mobile Backstage in a press release.

Hazan, an experienced music executive, started out by launching his own Toronto-based entertainment marketing agency, Music Matters, and has since held senior positions at Warner Music, The Orchard, MTV Networks, Universal Music Group and more.

"Mobile Backstage has so much potential to help bands and fans connect with each other in realtime, and now that it is also available on Facebook in addition to mobile phones, the growth will be exponential," Hazan said in a statement. "I look forward to working to develop Mobile Backstage as the leading social media engagement platform for artists."

He will be working to manage the company's global sales force and grow its footprint around the world.
